Samsung is reportedly working on 16-megapixel camera tech for upcoming smartphone models. The news comes straight out of Korea and suggests the snappy new upgrades may not be available in time for the Samsung Galaxy Note III but the company will likely focus their efforts on the next Galaxy S.
Like its current speciality mode, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, the new camera unit is also expected to feature optical image stabilisation but unlike the somewhat bulbous camera/phone hybrid with an extendible lens, this new technology is said to fit within the ‘slimline’ casing of a regular Android smartphone. With the Samsung Galaxy Note III due to arrive on September 4th this can only elude to the Samsung Galaxy S5, which is rumoured for an April/May 2014 release.
In other Samsung news today, it’s been suggested that the incoming Galaxy Note III will shoot video in stunning and sharp 4K quality in addition to previously rumoured features including Android 4.3 Jean Bean as OS of choice, a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 5.7-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 3GB of RAM and an option of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of in-built storage available from launch. The Note III will also include Samsung’s Eye Control features allowing touchless control on the phablet’s generous surface area.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 however is still shrouded in secrecy but we expect more to come to light once the shadow of the sizeable Galaxy Note III has passed next Wednesday. Which is expected to be announced alongside the Samsung smart watch.
