Back in October Nokia announced its first ever Windows RT running Lumia tablet in the form of the Nokia Lumia 2520, and since its announcement many fans in the UK have been wondering when they will be able to get their hands on the device.
Well, Nokia and John Lewis have revealed that the tablet device will go on sale exclusively in the UK at John Lewis stores for a price of £399.99.
From next week, or December 4th to be precise, John Lewis retail outlets, high street stores and online will be selling the Lumia tablet in multiple colours including the dashing red and the standard black.
The tablet itself is a strong contender for Microsoft’s new Surface 2 devices as the Lumia 2520 runs a powerful 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip from Qualcomm, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a card slot which can accommodate a further 32GB of memory.
Nokia’s first tablet has a vivid 10-inch Full HD display and comes running the latest Windows RT 8.1 software which offers a version Microsoft Windows 8 that has been slimmed down for tablet devices. What’s more, the 2520 comes with 2 cameras; a 6.7-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera for video calling.
The Nokia Lumia 2520 will go on sale through John Lewis on Wednesday December 4th and will be priced at £399.99. In addition, the Nokia Power Keyboard Case, giving an additional 5hrs of battery life and two full size USB 2.0 ports, will be available from John Lewis in the coming weeks and will be priced at £149.95.
The tablet is yet to appear on the John Lewis website, but we’re sure you can pop in to a store to find out more.
