Acer’s previously leaked 8.1-inch Iconia W3 tablet looks to be a done deal as the Windows 8-sporting device has made an appearance on the company’s official Finnish website, revealing the long-rumoured device’s existence.
The specification revealed on the site matches up to the information we have previously found online, with the Iconia W3 sporting a 1.8GHz Atom Z2760 CPU with 2GB of RAM which runs the Windows 8 Pro OS. It features an 8.1-inch 1280 x 768 touchscreen with connectivity in the form of 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and micro-HDMI and micro USB hook-ups built in.
The tablet also has a micro SD slot which can hold a 64GB memory card for storage and it also comes with Microsoft Word pre-installed.
Previous leaks have revealed that a range of accessories are also set to be launched with the tablet including the pictured iPad-styled smart cover case that appears to cover front and back and folds up to form a stand, and the other a full-sized QWERTY keyboard dock.
Thoughts are that the tablet will fit in nicely between Microsoft’s Surface range and the current range of large sized smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy Note (although that’s Android OS).
The tablet had no pricing or release date information tied to it on Acer’s Finnish site but we are expecting the Iconia W3 to land in the middle of June in Europe.
