Despite having no fixed release date Nintendo’s Wii U is desperate to break free and online retailer Amazon has contributed to the excitement and hype for what NOA President Reggie Fils-Aimes has called a ‘Living Room Revolution’ – by releasing box art images of a couple of the titles in the starting line-up of games.
Marvel’s The Avengers: Battle for Earth and anticipated revolutionary war sequel Assassin’s Creed III are included in the leak with both covers revealed ahead of being officially confirmed. The design features a throwback style, reminiscent of the artwork of Nintendo’s GameCube games with blue curved section at the top of the front cover which boasts the name of the must-have console for family fun this Christmas.
Both of the aforementioned games are published by French co. Ubisoft which stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Nintendo at this year’s E3 Expo in Los Angeles to announce its enduring partnership with the veteran console maker. However, despite Nintendo’s reluctance to confirm that the pack design of the new games seen on Amazon earlier this week is the real deal or just an artist’s impression – Ubisoft has defied its master and in speaking to Game Trailers website has said that the artwork show is ‘legit’.
It’s great to see things are finally taking shape for the Wii U’s public release but to be honest we’re not too bothered about what the box looks like – we just want to get those games spinning and start playing great new titles like ZombiU and Rayman!
