The LG Optimus 3D is finally available to buy and along with it, of course, comes the potential to play gaming titles in the stunning three-dimensional format. With the Android 2.3 update coming this October, the crossover for 2D-to-3D apps and games will come into play. And where would mobile gaming be without feather-flinging addiction Angry Birds?
Flying onto the market, LG’s Optimus 3D is the first of its kind – a glasses-free 3D smartphone – and it’s no surprise that the avian gaming sensation would be one of the first to make nest on the new 3D platform. The LG Optimus 3D came along packing Google platform 2.2 FroYo.
Android 2.3 Gingerbread will allow conversion from 2D apps to 3D and it’s believed that all current Angry Birds versions will be supported in 3D when the update rolls out on LG’s 3D gadget. There’s been no word however alluding to whether the other 3D kid on the block – HTC’s Evo 3D – will also get the Birds in the 3rd dimension, but presumably wherever there’s Android there’s Angry Birds!
