According to reports, it would seem that some users of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are experiencing troubles again with their ICS Android smartphone.
After updating to the much awaited Android 4.0.4 update, which started to roll out last week, it would seem that some users are reporting that the phone loses signal once it goes into sleep mode.
It would seem that the problem occurs if there is no background application running, and the processor speed drops below is a certain point. The end result is that the signal is lost when the Galaxy Nexus is not being used, meaning you won’t be able to receive calls or text messages until you ‘wake it up’.
The problem can be reportedly averted by simply running something which is resource heavy, or by setting the default CPU clock speed from 350MHz to 700MHz. Alternatively, you could also disable the sleep mode entirely. Obviously though, all these methods will have a detrimental effect on battery life.
Users have noted that this problem persist only with the 4.0.4 build, and that by rolling back to version 4.0.2 will make the issue disappear. Hopefully though, the issue can be quickly resolved without users have to take to this option. If we get any further info about this, we’ll let you know.
