Angry Birds Follow-Up ‘Amazing Alex’ Coming to PC, Mac, and Windows Phone

Rovio’s newest attempt at owning the apps market, ‘Amazing Alex’, is set to launch on more platforms in the very near future, bringing the physics-based puzzler to PC, Mac, and Windows Phone.

The game’s developer replied to an eager fan via the official Amazing Alex Twitter page, responding to the question “how about Windows Phone?” with “…PC, Mac & Windows Phone versions are to come later, post launch! And I guess that’s a bit of an exclusive for you”

It seems Rovio has learnt from Angry Birds, and after receiving some bad press for not bringing Angry Birds Space to Windows Phone straight away, it will be doing so with its new game. Angry Birds took a while to hit the PC and Mac, so Rovio is clearly going in all guns blazing to hit all the platforms straight away.

Having said that, it’s not clear if the app will be coming to the current Windows Phone 7.5 or the forthcoming Windows Phone 8 – we suspect it will launch very soon on WP7.5 and possibly later for Windows 8 PCs, phones, and tablets.

Amazing Alex launched earlier this week on iOS and Android as a 69p/64p download, and for those who haven’t played it yet; it’s a physics-based puzzle game whereby you arrange objects in order to create a path for an object to land in a basket or target. From what we’ve played so far it’s massively addictive and doesn’t stray too far from the looks and feel of Angry Birds, so fans of that series will be pleased.
