At last! Apple has started sending out official invites to a huge media event on October 4th. The invite says “let’s talk iPhone”, confirming that the next iPhone will be announced on that day.
As we previously reported, the event will be taking place at Apple’s own campus in Cupertino, California. This is the first time an iPhone event has taken place on Apple’s home turf – normally they book the Moscone centre in San Francisco for new iPhone announcements.
The conference will begin at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and most importantly to us, 6:00 p.m. GMT. We’ll be tuning in to a live broadcast and bringing you everything from the event as it happens, so make sure you’re here at 6 o’clock sharp on October 4th!
Many are expecting the iPhone 5 to be announced at the event, though we know from many leaks and previous reports that an improved version of the iPhone 4 may also be announced – the iPhone 4S. This iPhone will have less storage space, a better camera and possibly a faster processor. Apple hopes to provide the Pay as you Go market with a cheaper iPhone with this product.
