A thread on Apple’s support forums is filling up quite rapidly with users who are experiencing problems with updating the firmware on their 2nd generation Apple TV device.
In fact, some users are even reporting that the failed update has actually “bricked” their Apple TV, making it totally unusable.
One user posts on the forum their frustration when trying to restore their “bricked” Apple TV by saying “Also unable to restore my bricked ATV, in the UK, not happy.”
It would seem that Apple have acknowledged the problem with updating the firmware, which may have been due to a server issue at Apple’s support centre, and have said that the problem should be resolved by today – although were not too sure what will happen to users who have “bricked” devices.
