ASUS’ forthcoming super tablet, the Transformer Prime, has had its official release date leaked online in a product strategy document straight from ASUS themselves.
The document below has been leaked from ASUS, and from it we can clearly see that they plan to launch the Transformer Prime on November 9th this year. We think this will be the date for the official product launch and media event, rather than the date it will hit store shelves. We anticipate that you’ll be able to buy the product 1-2 weeks after the event.
The ASUS Transformer Prime was unveiled last month by ASUS top-dog Johnny Shih, and it really set our gadget pulses racing. The tablet will be the first to utilise Nvidia’s brand new Quad-Core processor, the Kal-el chip, or Tegra 3 as some are calling it. When it launches it will be running Android Honeycomb – likely 3.2 – but will be upgradable shortly after launch to Ice Cream Sandwich – Android 4.0.
In the leaked pictures (below) we can see the gorgeous design used on the back of the tablet, which becomes the ‘lid’ of a netbook when you dock the tablet into its dedicated keyboard dock. The keyboard dock has also been pictured online, showing the sleek chiclet keys and large trackpad.
The back of the tablet features a swirled metal effect which is finished in Silver, akin to the new line of ASUS Zenbook notebooks.
We’re expecting to hear more details on the Transformer Prime closer to next week and the November 9th launch, so stay tuned for more as we get it.
