BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) will be available to download on iPhone and Android from June 27th, according to a tweet from the official T-Mobile UK Twitter page.
“Great News – BlackBerry Messenger will be available to download on iOS and Android from June 27th! 🙂 #BBM” the tweet read, along with a picture of the app running on the Samsung Galaxy S3.
We didn’t expect the confirmation to come from a single UK network, as BlackBerry itself still hasn’t confirmed launch plans for BBM for iPhone and Android. The Canadian phone maker confirmed last month that its hugely popular instant messaging service will come to rival platforms, but didn’t say when we could expect it.
The app will be free to download on both iOS and Android, although BlackBerry has confirmed that BBM won’t be available to iPad users for the time being.
We’re yet to see just what the app looks like and how it functions, and for now this T-Mobile picture is all we have to go on.
