US Blackberry PlayBook owners to get missing Bridge app through AT&T

Disappointed US BlackBerry PlayBook owners who found that they had no method of  accessing calendars, emails and contacts on the tablet will be delighted to know that AT&T have approved a Blackberry Bridge app which will now let users connect their tablet and Blackberry phones and share features across the two platforms.

Already struck by having no dedicated email app, the lack of any way to link BlackBerry mobile tools onto the PlayBook tab was a major concern. AT&T devices will now be privy to the Bridge app – allowing information to be transferred wirelessly and free-of-charge. However, the service will be chargeable at $20 per month to use the mobile’s online connectivity through the tablet.

The delayed BlackBerry Bridge app will be available from BlackBerry World store from midday today, after much delay, with AT&T placing blame on RIM for “insufficient” timescale in which to test the application before the PlayBook’s launch last month.
