Call of Duty Black Ops: Zombies infection spreads to iPhone and iPad

The Call of Duty infection has spread to Apple gadgets today with the unleashing of undead-laden mobile edition Call of Duty Black Ops: Zombies for iPhone and iPad – available now via the App Store.

A lethal dose of Zombie play is faithfully translated by developer Activision from the scenes witnessed in the 2010 console version of third-person shooter Black Ops for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.  This new version is exclusively optimised for gaming on Apple gadgets with 50 never-before-played levels including the traditional FPS style of play and also ‘Dead-Ops Arcade’ mode – a ‘death from above’ mini game first seen in the original Black Ops title featuring a gauntlet style assault from legions of infected inhumans.

The Zombies gaming app can be played single player or co-operatively with up to 4 pals across iPhone and iPads packing iOS 3 and above and this Call of Duty mobile experience utilises the communications ability of the gadgets (remembering the iPhone is actually a phone!) allowing voice chat between players as they slay the undead hordes as a team!

This one’s aimed at the ‘serious’ gamer, converted expertly by Ideaworks Game Studio for use on your humble mobile or tablet. One early downloader puts it perfectly: “Even better than that one with all those birds and stuff!!!”

Call of Duty Black Ops: Zombies for iPhone and iPad costs £4.99 and is available now on the App Store – if you dare!
