At CES in Las Vegas this week Asus announced an official dock for its Google Nexus 7 Android tablet to the masses and immediately information started flying about regarding pricing and UK availability.
It has been thought that for some odd reason the Nexus 7 dock would retail in the US for a bargain price of $40 but UK customers would suffer one of the worst currency conversions ever by paying a whopping £79.99 for the UK variant.
However, Google today has announced that it will indeed be stocking the dock in the UK and the pricing for the stand will be a much more comfortable £25 for us Brits.
The dock itself is a decent bit of kit as it not only operates as a stand for the 7-inch tablet but also offers a mini-USB port for charging and a 3.5mm audio-out to plug in speakers so you can play your music and media via the dock.
Additionally, the charging of the device is done by slotting the tablet into place on the stand, allowing the magnetic pin connectors on the dock and Nexus 7 to connect, charging the device so there is no need to plug it in or fiddle about with cables.
Google will be releasing the Nexus dock in the next 2 weeks and it will be priced at £25 for the UK and $40 in the US. You will be able to order it directly from the Google Play Store.
