E3 2014: WWE 2K15 First Superstars Confirmed!

2K Sports is at E3 showing off its upcoming titles including this year’s addition to the World Wrestling Entertainment franchise and as the publisher prepares a ‘major announcement’ relating to the new grapple game a poster at the Los Angeles venue has revealed the first four superstars who will be playable in WWE 2K15!

The promotional artwork decorating the 2K booth at E3 announces the WWE 2K15 return of fan favourites John Cena and Hulk Hogan (in late 80s Hulkamania gear) who are joined by modern-era heroes ‘the Swedish Superman’ Cesaro and the arrival, much to our approval, of the cult leader Bray Wyatt.

There are no real surprises here, as these characters which have been and currently are the top properties in the world of wrestling it was inevitable they would all be included and the poster still leaves much to be revealed – like the theme of this year’s game.

In previous year’s WWE games originally published by THQ and then 2K we’ve been able to play through the Attitude Era and relive every big moment from 30 years of Wrestlemania in last year’s game. The money is on a WCW revival this year and it’s suggested that the big announcement to be made by 2K Sports tomorrow night may be a pre-order bonus featuring ‘The Icon’ Sting and there is also rumour that a WWE Career mode may allow players to start as an NXT rookie on a path to main eventer. Motion capture is said to be much improved in the upcoming title and in excess of 30 hours of commentary has been recorded which may finally break the repetitiveness and playback loops from Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole.

WWE 2K15 will be released in the UK on October the 31st for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and we’re hoping for some fighting footage to emerge before the week is out.
