We’re just a few days away from Her Majesty the Queen of England’s Diamond Jubilee and in addition to laying out the Union Jack bunting and making the party plans the Gadget Helpline also provided our loyal blog reading subjects to some of the fantastic gadgetry as used, endorsed and not-so-endorsed by Queen Elizebeth the Second who will reach her 60th year on the throne this Tuesday!
We’ve been tipped off to a last minute update to our list which, if you’re lucky enough to be hitting London over this four day bank holiday weekend, will allow offer you a guided tour of some of the capitals top spots and most Royal locations right on your iPhone. The graphically rich and colourful app is called “Diamond Jubilee Video Tour” and even if your not heading out this weekend you can check out the fantastic content held within which includes footage from partner ITN’s vast video archive including last year’s Royal Wedding and King George VI giving a speech in parliament in 1950 and much much more. The app makers promise a one of a kind experience perfectly befitting one of the biggest British spectacles of our time.
The benefit for those actually visiting London is that the app uses GPS and Google maps to offer directions and will allow you to take a two and a half hour walking tour and check off fifteen places of interest as you visit them and bring up additional info through Wikipedia so you could see it as completing a most Royal of challenges!
