Facebook Update Brings “Beautiful View of Photos”

Facebook has yet again added another little tweak to the ever-changing UI of the social network site. This time the change comes in the picture viewing area, as Facebook has made photo displays bigger and more prominent.

The changes have been made to the website’s timeline interface so those last few users who are resisting the timeline update will not see any of the reported changes until they adjust to the new FB layout.

The basics of the update are shown when you click on one of the photo icons displayed at the top of the timeline – the images will take up the entire screen with photos from the album, which will help you find specific shots.

The featured shots work from pics you have shared, been tagged in, or that have been starred as a favourite photograph by using the new virtual star button that appears in the top right hand corner of each photo.

The new update is very akin to Google’s recent update to its Google+ social networking site that ran a similar sort of photo viewer, with a square format with the option to “highlight” certain shots to increase their footprint on the page.

The update is currently being rolled out across Facebook users periodically with no set rollout plan. Just keep an eye out on your page to see the update.
