Xbox One backwards compatibility was announced at E3 this year, with gamers expected to be able to play an entire range of titles from the Xbox 360. If you’ve still got your old Xbox 36 discs you should find that the titles listed below work on the Xbox One.

Interestingly enough Microsoft also announced that multiplayer matches, gamerscore and everything else will work over both console generations – so for games like Gears of War you should be able to connect with friends and play over new and old Xboxes.
Starting in December new titles should be announced and released on backwards compatibility every month, including Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty®: Black Ops 1, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite, and Skate 3 next month.
