Grocer and online department store Asda is once again at its backside slapping best with its latest deal on Samsung’s original Galaxy Ace smartphone. The chain leaves a few extra quid in your pocket, whilst undercutting rival Tesco to bring the first gen Ace down to just £135.
Asda has certainly pulled an Ace out of its sleeve when it comes to price – and the Ace in question features Android 2.2 Froyo (upgradable to 2.3 Gingerbread) presented on a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen display and powered by a respectable 800MHz processor. This one won’t win any races against the likes of big bro the Galaxy SII, but it’s a nice mobile for those looking for an entry level smartphone – now at a price that can’t be complained about!
At full price the Samsung Galaxy Ace, which was released in February 2011, will set you back around £260 at top price, with a few retailers offering it for a fraction less. Tesco’s best offer is currently £149.99 – but to keep up with its top supermarket challenger we expect the chain will respond with further discounts soon.
