Google Now Available for iOS – Update to Google Search App

Apple fans can now get their hands on Google’s latestaApp feature, Google Now, on the App Store for their iPhone, iPad and iPod devices which will bring Google’s latest search technology to iOS.

However, the changes have been bought into the Google Search App on the iOS system are unlike the Android version in that you will need to load up the Google Search App to use the new Google Now features.

Google states: “Google Now for iPhone and iPad is available as part of the updated Google Search app. Together, Google Now and voice search will make your day run a little smoother.”

Users will need to sign in to a Google account on their iOS device and when this is done you will be able to swipe upwards to access your Google Now cards, based on your location and other personal factors.

You can then check the weather, see bus and train timetables and flight information, be offered details of local bars and restaurants, get traffic reports and sports scores, currency conversion tables and more.

Google’s Search app will also give you instant answers to all your questions, by either typing or using the microphone to speak to your device and the search will be done in super-fast real time.

Many of the features of Google Now will cross over with Apple’s iOS Siri software so many an Apple fan will not use this but the inclusion of Google Now really does add to the Google app on iOS.

Google will be holding its annual Google I/O event next month where new search features, Android software and devices are expected to be revealed.
