If you aren’t getting any Twitter feeds in your Google searches today – fear not. The Universe will not end.. yet. Google are giving the Realtime feature in their search engine a rest while they concentrate on integrating new social experience Google+ into their services.
Funny enough, after shutting down the RealTime tweet feed, the first thing you do, obviously, is tweet and Google informed its followers of the situation – that the service is temporarily disabled, and to “Stay tuned.”
Google commented further, addressing the end of a partnership agreement with Twitter, in a statement (of more than 140 characters) “Since October of 2009, we have had an agreement with Twitter to include their updates in our search results through a special feed, and that agreement expired on July 2. While we will not have access to this special feed from Twitter, information on Twitter that’s publicly available to our crawlers will still be searchable and discoverable on Google.”
Twitter responded in kind – with no timeframe given or any indication if or when the handy little feed will go live again.
The Google+ app for Android is now available – Read the article HERE.
