‘One more batch’ of HP TouchPad tablets will go into production says a Hewlett-Packward spokesperson today.
The TouchPad became the must-grab bargain a few weeks ago when HP declared its discontinuation of native operating system WebOS. In wake of the software’s demise the price of the tablet was slashed down to around a third of its original asking price in the USA and UK and, of course, the tech buying market went into frenzy – all stocks of TouchPad selling out in minutes.
Disappointed would-be-buyers can today lift their faces out of their palms as Mark Budgell, HP blogger, revealed some very interesting news in a recent update. There will be an undisclosed number of TouchPad units going into production – but rumoured at around 200,000 – and this, my friends, will be final!
Budgell says in his article “We don’t know exactly when these units will be available or how many we’ll get, and we can’t promise we’ll have enough for everyone.”
This will be the last chance to grab an £89 slab. Once their gone, they’re gone!
