HTC issues invite to September 20th NYC event – Also launches new ‘Mango’ apps

Following a recent Windows Phone-based handset launch in London, invitations are rolling out online to HTC’s “Celebrate in Style” event in New York City on September 20th – expected to be the grand unveiling of several new mobile handsets to pack the latest Android mobile OS.

In attendance will be Peter Chou, President and CEO of the Taiwanese tech co., but no official info on what we’ll see by the end of the day – however the names and models speculated include the 1.5GHz jewel in the HTC crown – the handset formerly known as Ruby, now Amaze 4G.

Other announcements are predicted to feature HTC’s Beats collaboration the Vigor, also Kingdom, Bliss and Holiday – all riding in on Google’s operating software.

If all these gadgets see light of day in the Big Apple (no, not the one that sues everything..) we’ll have seen the majority of the promised eight devices to be launched before the end of year, outted in on two continents, and will finally give HTC fans something to really look forward to amidst the ever-swirling whirlwind of rumours and leaks.

Meanwhile..

For those of you eagerly awaiting your slice of ‘Mango’ you may be interested to know that 3 new apps have been detailed by HTC for upcoming gadgets such as Radar and Titan.

Providing a sensible crossover from native HTC Sense software to Windows Phone 7.5, HTC has dedicated some of its familiar application to the Microsoft styling as well as a few new bits ‘n bobs and mobile users running the new operating software will be able to enjoy a new location and geo-tagging app with “Footprints”, as well as “Connected Media” which is a new DLNA-certified app to allow for media sharing.

 

Also expect all that social goodness that was promised when the Window Phone 7 ‘Mango’ project was announced so long ago – now expected to land around mid-to-late September.
