The first official update for the new HTC One X retail units has started to roll out to users across Europe.
The update will bring the HTC’s new flagship device up to version 1.28.401.9, and is a relatively small update being only 30MB in size. So if you have an unbranded One X and want to check to see if you can now get the update, go to ‘Settings’ then ‘About’ and select ‘Software Update’ to hopefully initiate the update process. Unfortunately, at the moment the update is only available for the non-network branded handsets, although hopefully those with a network branded version will be getting the update in the near future.
The contents of the update are also fairly small, don’t expect to see any new features but instead a few bug fixes – like when the phone would incorrectly display the on-screen menu key in certain Google Apps like YouTube. According to reports, there also seems to be some adjustments made to the auto-brightness settings, as well as addressing an issue with battery performance that a lot of One X owners have been complaining about recently. It’s also been reported that the update fixes another intermittent bug which would result in garbled text and icons being displayed in the notification bar.
If you happen to have a generic non-network specific One X and have applied the update, let us know if you’ve noticed any other improvements by leaving us a comment below. Or message us via our @Gadget_Helpline Twitter page or Official Facebook group.
