BGR has uncovered US network Sprint’s plans to unveil a new 3D touting, high spec HTC handset – the HTC Evo 3D.
The CTIA mobile event is due to start tomorrow over in Florida, where both mobile manufacturers and mobile networks plan to unveil new products. We’ve already seen leaked info on the HTC Prime (Windows Phone 7) and the HTC Pyramid (Android), both of which are apparently due to be announced at the same event.
It looks as though Sprint are set to introduce HTC’s first 3D handset, which will take on the LG Optimus 2X and its 3D capabilities, at some point over the next 3 days of the CTIA event.
According to BGR’s source, we’re to expect a 4.3-inch qHD 960 x 450-pixel Autostereoscopic 3D display, 4GB of RAM, 1GB ROM, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm 8660 Snapdragon CPU, dual rear 5-megapixel cameras with dedicated camera button, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and 1730mAh battery. The HTC EVO 3D will run Android Gingerbread 2.3 with HTC Sense UI and it will also output 1080p video via HDMI and output 720p 3D content as well. There will also be a Blockbuster 3D on demand app as well as YouTube 3D.
Due to the information being unofficial, as always take it with a pinch of salt. The 4GB of RAM and 1GB of ROM could well be the other way around, 4GB is alot of RAM to be fitting into a slim smartphone.
Here’s hoping the HTC Evo 3D turns out to be real, the specifications turn out to be accurate, and the handset makes its way to Europe!
