The dreaded iPhone 4S rumour has reared its ugly face again as the iPhone rumour mill throws another curve ball into the mix.
Rumblings on the Internet are suggesting that the expected October release is still on track – but will be for a slightly improved iPhone 4 (4S?) firstly, before the iPhone 5 is released.
The rumour originates from macolytes over at 9to5mac – who do have a good track record when it comes to the latest iPhone rumours.
According to 9to5mac the iPhone 5 will come sometime further down the line – even suggesting it could by the end of the year – so two new iPhones before the end of 2011? Something smells fishy.
Apparently the updated iPhone 4 is already rolling off the production lines in its hundreds of thousands and the new, true next-generation iPhone 5 – which was apparently built tandem – won’t see the light of day just yet due to production shortages.
We’re not sure whether to believe this latest rumour – it’s feasible that Apple are struggling, like many manufacturers, to keep up with demand, so could tweak the production of the current iPhone 4 to make a 4S and try to get the iPhone 5 out sometime toward the end of 2011 or even early 2012.
We’ve had numerous rumours over the last few weeks regarding the new iPhone; from what it will look like to when we’ll see it in shops courtesy of a loose-lipped Orange CEO, and that we should be getting the blower in both white and black from launch.
All we know for certain is we’ll have a new iPhone in a matter of weeks. What ever you do – you’d be crazy to upgrade now – wait a few weeks to see what Apple do, then make your decision.
