Just like the Land of the Rising Sun’s monster mascot Godzilla, we bring you the Gadget Helpline feature that will not die – Only in Japan LIVES! You thought it was over and so did we. That’s until we discovered these Shinjuku showgirls with a difference. A BIG difference!
Catering for Japan’s over-erotically charged enthusiasm for massive machines and busty babes a Robot Restaurant has opened for business in a section of Tokyo. For around £25 worth of Yen punters can gain entry to the neon wonderland and have a drink thrown in to start the revelry. Much like the traditional titillation which can be found on the flipside of many a Japanese business district the dancing girls in this particular establishment also have some artificial augmentations of their own – but not quite the same ones your gutter brain is currently thinking of!
The real-life lovelies in the Robot Restaurant actually sit on and steer massive mechanical bodies of even more gigantic girls which are based on the full-figured fantasy females of Japanese manga and video games. Twice nightly the bots will put on an hour long dancing performance for their clientele as well as serving up drinks and delivering delights such as sushi to their tables.
The Robot Restaurant cost around £83 million and opened in Kabuchiko last week and if this very unique entertainment spectacle wasn’t bizarre enough, part of an advertising push for the new virtual venture saw several of the human-driven iron maidens take to the streets of Shinjuku on the back of a truck. Arousing more than a little interest from the local onlookers and led by a multi-coloured team of Star Wars inspired storm troopers!
