Thisismynext .com managed to get their hands on several snapshots as well as the specifications for Lenovo’s forthcoming shot at the tablet market, the Thinkpad Tablet. Specifications are pretty similar to most other Honeycomb tablets, including an Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, 10.1-inch WXGA 1280×800 screen, USB, Mini HDMI, Wi-Fi, 3G and 16/32/64GB onboard storage variants. There is also a full size SD card reader on board, which is a little different to the norm of a Micro SD slot.
Asides from the run-of-the-mill specs, Lenovo will be releasing the Thinkpad Tablet with a full size keyboard dock, transforming the tablet into a notebook PC – a la Asus Eee Pad Transformer. Lenovo have a background in business notebooks, so it seems this is where they are hoping to give their tablet an edge over the competition.
According to the specifications sheet, the Thinkpad Tablet is scheduled for a July 2011 release, and will cost around $499 in the US.
