Live app for iTunes Festival London 2011 – HD video & audio covers 31-day music event

Apple will be launching a new HD app to present its London iTunes Festival 2011 throughout July. It’s available next Tuesday and this part will be music to the ears of many; it’s completely free!

The iTunes Live app for iOS will stream performances over 31 days in high definition video and high quality audio formats, live from the Roundhouse venue in London. Miss a favourite band? The app supports an on-demand style playback feature meaning you won’t miss a moment of the music from top artists such as Kasabian, Linkin Park, Arctic Monkeys and Coldplay – with the event featuring 62 bands in total and headlined by 80’s icons Duran Duran.

Not only will the app let you stream and playback the live gigs, but you can also check the schedule, read the latest news from the iTunes Festival and learn a little more about the artists being showcased, as well as a photo gallery featuring snaps from previous year’s fests – it’s like having a digital program in your pocket.

What’s really exciting is the support of Apple Airplay – meaning you can send the gig that’s playing on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to your big-screen TV using an Apple TV receiver – and really enjoy a full festival experience from your home. Just add warm beer!

You can grab the iTunes Live app now and read more about the festival at www.itunesfestival.com
