Microsoft & LucasArts force Star Wars for Kinect back until 2012

Disarm sabers Force-fans.. Microsoft and LucasArts have disabled any promise of a Star Wars for Kinect launch before 2012.

Disappointingly there will now be no X-Wings on Xbox this Xmas and a statement from the Galactic Alliance of the game’s publisher and the games maker reads “Microsoft and LucasArts have elected to move the launch of Kinect Star Wars beyond holiday 2011 to ensure the full potential of this title is realised.”

Much like Luke Skywalker, guided by wise Yoda, the team behind Star Wars for Kinect were a little headstrong, charging in to the new game, which for the first time will fully immerse gamers in the battles of a Galaxy Far, Far Away, with both weapons duels with the famous lightsaber and blasters, to piloting a number of the famous starships.

The upset continues, in that not only is the game itself delayed, but so is the amazingly cool ‘droid themed Xbox 360 console set to celebrate the much-anticipated title landing on Microsoft’s popular motion-sensing games platform.

Star Wars fans haven’t been this disappointed since The Phantom Menace..

If you can’t wait you can console yourself with the Star Wars: Complete Saga Blu-Ray set on it’s way in October!
