We’ve been informed by a number of Freesat set top box users that some channels around 137, 138 and 139 – including cult favourite CBS Action – have gone A.W.O.L in the past few days. But fear not – these channels have not been beamed away for good and can be restored by simply resetting your box and performing a rescan!
Below are a couple examples of resets for two of the most popular Freesat brands, Humax and Bush, which will soon have you Star Trekking with Captain Picard, Mr Data and crew and back cracking the case with MacGyver in no time:
Humax Freesat Set Top Boxes:
Press the Home button.
Scroll to Settings and press the OK button.
Scroll to System Settings and press the OK button.
Scroll to Factory Default and press the OK button.
Scroll to Reset System and press the OK button.
“Do you want to reset all settings to default?” will be displayed, scroll to Yes and press the OK button.
Type in the PIN Code (default pin is 0000).
Set Top Box will reboot to First Time Installation.
Follow steps on screen to complete.
Check channel list to find previously missing stations.
Bush Freesat Set Top Boxes:
Press the Menu button
Scroll to Setup and press the OK button.
Scroll to System and press the OK button.
Scroll to Restore Factory Default and press the OK button.
Type in PIN Code (default pin is 0000)
Set Top Box will reboot to First Time Installation.
Follow steps on screen to complete.
Check channel list to find previously missing stations.
The support given above is fairly generic across the Humax or Bush Freesat range, however be aware that some of the terms used and the position of the options may vary dependent on model.
