Well we didn’t expect to see this one so soon, but games website Kotaku has got possibly the biggest gaming scoop of the year by unleashing a barrage of information on the latest instalment in the super popular Call Of Duty first person shooter series.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the big blockbuster sequel to the Modern Warfare 2, brother to Activision’s Black Ops and is set to be the hottest game in the world after Black Ops generated $1 billion worth of revenue in the first six weeks of its release.
The game itself was set to be revealed at this year’s E3 gaming expo in June but it seems that some of the new developers on the next Modern Warfare title are not as tight-lipped as the game’s old developers, Infinity Ward.
The article itself features a few spoilers on the game and what’s going to happen so read it at your own will, but we are not going to spoil it and just say that the single player game mode will carry on immediately where Modern Warfare 2 left off, offering another 15 missions of globetrotting, high octane explosion-filled adventure.
What’s more interesting to us is the Multiplayer aspect of the game which promises to come with 15 levels set in locations around the world including Manhattan, Paris (more specifically the eerie catacombs of Paris) London and even India.
The Spec Ops mode from Modern Warfare 2 will also return but this time with an expanded game type of “Survival” and “Mission” modes, with Mission being similar to the last game’s format. The new Survival mode will be more akin to the Halo Fire fight or GOW2 Horde mode, where players will have to fight until they’re overcome by increasingly difficult waves of enemies.
Obviously this is all just a leak from Activision so the company itself has yet to confirm any of the information, but we can expect some info in the coming weeks!
