Nintendo really stole the show at this year’s E3 Expo back in June. Since teasing us with the finished Wii U – a console heralded as a ‘living room revolution’ – and answering the question of if the gaming giant could deliver the goods after a somewhat disappointing first outing for the console a year earlier we were still left without the answer to one of the most important questions of all – when will it be out..?
It appears we will soon have that answer – at least as far as U.S gamers are concerned. Nintendo is set to address the mystery of the release date (previously confirmed as pre-‘holidays’) and more on September 13th at a special Wii U preview event in New York presented by Nintendo of America President and frontman Reggie Fils-Aime .
At this event we’re expecting to get the final date and price for the new Wii U, which features graphic improvements, the innovative new touchscreen gamepad offering a second platform for play and the traditional family and friends fun which made the original Wii a household name – this as well as the official word on the first line-up of games from publishing partners such as Ubisoft.
Our avid readers may remember that a list of 25 potential release day titles were leaked from the Blockbuster database including names such as New Super Mario Bros. U and Batman: Arkham City – Armoured Edition. Nintendo itself has been showing of games such as party game NintendoLand and ZombiU at recent trade and tech events and we’re hoping these will be available from day one.
