Nokia Lumia 800 London launch event to feature “4D” performance by DeadMau5

Nokia has big plans for the launch of its upcoming Windows Phone, the Lumia 800 on November 28th. So big in-fact that it will take over the entire 800 window frontage of the 400-foot tall Millbank Tower in London, which will play host to an exclusive “4D” musical and visual performance from Canadian electro DJ – DeadMau5.

Nokia are set to celebrate with a bang, in the capital and everybody can watch live and in person from the riverside of the Thames or via streaming video on Nokia’s Facebook page. The gig will feature a 30-minute set including 2 new tracks by DeadMau5, the DJ behind “Ghost N Stuff” and unique versions of tracks by popular artists such as Lady Gaga. The music will be complimented by a three-dimensional visual spectacle shown on the Millbank Tower created by fellow musical remixers and graphics masters Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.

DeadMau5 speaks ahead of the big night “Visuals have always been an important part of my shows, so the chance to work with Nokia and its projection team on a project of this scale and ambition is really exciting. It’s also great to be able to play such an iconic landmark and to a UK crowd.”

The Nokia Lumia 800, formerly codenamed the Sea Ray, features a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, 1.4GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 16GB storage – and because it’s a Microsoft Windows Phone packing latest ‘Mango’ update the smartphone can connect to Skydrive for 25GBs of ‘floating’ storage. Buyers can also enjoy the 5-megapixel camera and HD video recording when the first Nokia gadget featuring Windows Phone 7.5 drops. This gig will be the swansong of a lengthy promotional campaign which Nokia hopes, along with partnership with Microsoft, will bring its brand into the forefront of the mobile market once more.

The performance start time is to be confirmed, but the show is scheduled for Monday 28th November from Millbank Tower in London.
