Users over on XDA-Developers website have apparently found an early leak of the future Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone firmware which will hopefully, and finally, kill off those battery issues once and for all – as well as adding a few new tweaks to the camera software.
Software update ROM 1600.2487.8107.12070 (to give its full title) has surfaced after initially being prepped for release to New Zealand’s Vodafone network customers and those who have been commenting on the latest find suggest that sorts out the battery drainage issue which was promised in the last “official” firmware launch. Eagle-eyed software tweakers over at XDA-Developers have spotted in the updates coding the words “smart group shot”, “panorama” and “action” flash – this clearly suggesting the camera feature of the Nokia Lumia 800 should also benefit from flashing this early fix right now.
As with all these forced fixes there is risk of voiding you gadget’s warranty and you will need to reinstall all your apps. The Gadget Helpline suggests you check out the XDA-Developers Forum before attempting this one and to only do so if you know exactly what you’re doing – You have been warned!
