Nokia Lumia 800 Unboxing and Setup Guide

  • by

Last week something magical landed at The Gadget Helpline HQ. After a year of hard work, designing and engineering, Nokia’s first Windows Phone smartphone was here.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is a fantastic piece of engineering and we’re certain it will do well across the world thanks to a simplified yet great design, good hardware and intuitive software from Microsoft with Windows Phone 7.5.

We’ve been putting the phone through its paces since we received it, and decided to put together a little video including an unboxing and setup guide for you guys. We don’t normally pay too much attention to the packaging of a smartphone, mostly due to us being far too eager to get to the gadget itself, but as Nokia has clearly thought outside of the box and come up with some interesting ideas in that department, we thought we’d add that into the mix.

The handset features an almost identical design to that of Nokia’s N9 smartphone which unfortunately never made it to the UK. The case is one piece of smooth polycarbonate with no option to remove the battery – everything is smooth, flush and a pleasure to hold. Personally I really love the design, especially how Nokia has designed the Micro SIM tray and USB port to slot unobtrusively into the top of the phone.

Nokia has used some prime hardware to create their first Windows Phone, including a great 8-Megapixel camera with LED Flash and a Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, 1.4GHz processor and a bright, great quality 3.7-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen.

We won’t spoil the rest for you, so check out our unboxing and setup guide for the Nokia Lumia 800 below!
