Nokia Lumia 920 4G to Hit UK as Everything Everywhere Exclusive

Nokia may not have announced a release date for its new flagship smartphone, but now we’re hearing that the UK will receive a super-fast 4G version thanks to the network Everything Everywhere.

We expected a 4G LTE version to launch in the U.S, but now confirmation from the Financial Times and further whispers from sources at O2 and Vodafone in the UK to tech site Pocket-Lint have confirmed the UK will also get the speedy phone. In an article on the FT website we’re told that one of Nokia’s new Windows Phones will launch exclusively on Everything Everywhere.

According to Pocket-Lint’s sources at both UK networks, no other major UK network has plans to stock the Lumia 920 yet. Both have apparently also confirmed that a 4G version of the phone will hit the UK.

Everything Everywhere, the merger of Orange and T-Mobile, is widely expected to be the first to offer 4G mobile internet speeds here in the UK. It’s expected that 4G LTE connectivity will be offered by the group late on in 2012, and will be branded as Everything Everywhere, instead of either Orange or T-Mobile.

As Everything Everywhere will be the only network in the UK to offer 4G LTE and they have exclusive rights to one of Nokia’s new Windows Phones, we’re going to bet that it will be offering the Lumia 920 4G.

Exclusive phone launches are nothing new in the UK, and we’re sure that after a month or so the Lumia 920 will become available on other networks. We very much doubt that any other network will be offering the 4G version of the phone as none seem quite as far ahead with their plans for the new network technology as Everything Everywhere.

The Lumia 920 boasts new camera technology with image stabilisation, a speedy dual-core processor, wireless charging, and also the latest Windows Phone 8 software. A pairing with Everything Everywhere will mean web browsing speeds of over 70 Mbps.
