O2 are confident it can cope with the masses of London-based network traffic over the coming weekend with the mobile-using public flocking to the capital to join the festivities celebrating the Royal Wedding of Wills and Kate.
The UK network claims the expected 300,000 additional revellers will be no strain on the 283 central London cell towers. With calls and texts bombarding the service, regular maintenance has been scrapped over the weekend to keep up demand on the O2 service.
Photo and video messaging is also expected to reach high numbers with social media playing a large part in the day for mobile users wishing to record and send their visual memories of the event to friends and family.
In addition to O2’s heavyweight efforts for the Capital, the little village of Bucklebury, Berks, which is home to the bride herself, will receive a mast upgrade and significant signal boost in time for the big day.
If you’re an O2 mobile user on your way to London this weekend you’ll be guaranteed no interference or delay on your services. So now your only worry will be to remember to charge your batteries to catch the perfect picture of the newlyweds!
