Following visits to San Francisco and San Diego it appears the next stop for Orange customers will be Hollywood, as the network today revealed a new budget handset which has just appeared on the “Coming Soon” section of the official website.
Boasting no tasty Jelly Bean, nor Ice Cream Sandwich, the Hollywood from Orange actually features no famously named operating system and is the latest in the network’s range of self-branded pocket-money friendly, casual, and entry level user mobiles.
The range has already seen a couple of handy handsets released in similar vein and this one also keeps it small and simple with a 2.4” touchscreen display and with no mention of processor size and speed we know this one’s going to be a non-demanding mobile.
The Hollywood from Orange features a look and keyboard layout which we feel will appeal to BlackBerry lovers on a budget. A respectable 3.2-megapixel camera is provided and there’s easy access the web with Wi-Fi and EDGE connectivity, as well as quick links to social feeds including the essential Facebook and Twitter. Additional entertainment is on hand in the form of an FM radio and MP3 player.
Orange can offer no price or release date on the Hollywood as yet, but for those interested in hooking up their youngster with a first smartphone, getting a gift for gran to stay in touch with, or simply something to store in the car in case of emergency, this could be your gadget.
