Tesco Hudl 2 compared to Original Hudl

  • by

Following the release of the Hudl 2 tablet yesterday Tesco has cut the price on the original by £40.

Looking to shift some of its last season stock Tesco stores and Tesco Direct online have now listed the budget but still respectable Hudl Android tablet for just £79. The classic Hudl comes loaded with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is expected to update during initial set up to run on par with the new second gen model in terms of operating system.

The Hudl features a 7-inch LCD touchscreen display with 1440 x 900 HD pixel resolution which runs at 243ppi. That’s right. This is a value tablet that runs just short of Apple’s iPad 4 which runs at 263ppi (the Hudl 2 even overtaking that).

Processing speeds are clocked at a 1.5GHz with a Rock Chip quad-core CPU and the device comes with 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory with SD expansion available to double it to 32GB.

Not bad for under eighty quid and if you’re looking for a beginner tablet for a youngster or less demanding user the classic Hudl is still relevant in its budget section of the market and would make a nice Christmas gift with a selection of colours available.
