UK owners of Samsung’s Smart TV sets already get to enjoy the best of the web right on their telly (with over 5 million apps downloaded) and from today PlayJam – the world’s largest interactive casual games network – will be bringing playtime to the big screen. Now that’s smart!
Live in the Samsung App Store right now, Smart TV viewers will be able to grab the app which will deliver over 500 titles from the PlayJam library in massive HD widescreen while utilising Smart TV’s 3D tech and incorporating the Smart Hub – a feature which allows connection to a home network of PC, mobile and other storage gadgets.
There’s an all important social element to gaming, too, with Playjam’s Social Game’s Network. As well as enjoying gaming and chat with pals, owners will be able to view leaderboards and see how their game scores measure up with other smart players.
Guy Kinnell, Marketing Director of Samsung UK says: “By continually building on the current Samsung Apps store, Samsung is providing viewers with the widest range of content to enjoy on their TV. Our partnership with PlayJam ensures we are appealing to a wider audience of consumers who want to make the most of the Smart TV whether that be through gaming, social networking or sharing content with friends and family.’’
“We are at the beginning of a new revolution in casual and social gaming on TV” adds PlayJam’s CEO Jasper Smith, who ambitiously believes that television gaming will overtake the mobile gaming market over the next few years.
Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves, Jasper!
