PopCap Games come to Android mobiles – “Plants vs Zombies” to rival “Angry Birds”

Here at the Gadget Helpline we love mobile games. We love FREE mobile games even more!

So we were excited to hear that PopCap Games, creator of many online games and console downloadables including veteran faves “Bejewelled” and “Zuma”, has teamed with Amazon’s Appstore to release a range of titles onto the Android smartphone platform with downloads absolutely free for a limited period!

The first title to kick-start the PopCap/Android gaming tag-team will be puzzler “Chuzzle” which will be free to download now and then will be available for the small fee of $2.99 after release.

But in truth this really just keeps our fingers and thumbs busy for the real treat later in the month when the popular “Plants vs Zombies” drops on the Amazon store – also as a first day freebie – previously only available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

“Plants vs. Zombies” is played by guarding your virtual home against legions of the undead by using a very random selection of vegetation, each with a unique method of defense. We predict widespread infection and addiction when the title hits the millions of Android mobiles now active – maybe even giving those “Angry Birds” something to squawk about!

And check out “Chuzzle” now on the Amazon AppStore!
