LG reveals Android Ice Cream Sandwich Update Schedule

You may remember that LG promised an upgrade to the latest Ice Cream Sandwich update on their Android phones this year, and it’s certainly a promise they intend on keeping as they have just announced the release schedule for when you should expect to get ICS on your LG device.

LG Optimus 2X

According to LG, the update will start to roll out in two waves. The first will be in the second quarter of next year and will cover the following handsets: LG Optimus LTS, Prada phone by LG, LG Optimus 2X, LG Optimus Sol, LG Touch Q and finally the LG Eclipse.

The second wave of handsets to get the ICS update will be in quarter three, and the phones included in that list will be: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.

To be fair, LG have done a pretty good job in outlining their intentions with the ICS update on their range of handsets, considering that in the past the company was quite slow to keep up with the latest version of the Android OS.  It’s good to see that they are realising the importance of ensuring that users are able to access the most up-to-date features available on their smartphones.
