If you have a Samsung Galaxy SII, no doubt you are, or have been patiently waiting for the much anticipated Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 update which started to roll out towards the end of last week.
Well, if you’re also a keen Android developer and also own a Galaxy SII, you may be excited to know that Samsung have just released the source code for the ICS update forthe SII, which can be found at the Samsung’s open source portal.
If you’re just the average user, the source code for the ICS update on the SII will probably be of no interest to you. But to the developer community, this opens up loads of opportunity to start creating custom ROMs for your Samsung Galaxy SII featuring ICS 4.0.
So, if you fancy taking a look at the source code for ICS on the Galaxy SII, you can head on over the Samsung Open Source Release Center to download the zip containing all the files required.
At the moment, the Galaxy SII in the office has yet to receive any notification of an update. Although we’re optimistic that we’ll be experiencing all the delights that ICS has to offer by the end of the week – fingers crossed!
