Samsung Mobile is currently trying to do everything it can to prove that its latest Samsung Galaxy S II Android Gingerbread running smartphone is the biggest contender and rival to Apple’s latest iPhone 4S handset, first by launching numerous stunts surrounding the S II launch and now by announcing just how many Galaxy S II handsets they have sold.
Yep, in a bragging press release Samsung has stated that it has sold over 30 Million units of its Samsung Galaxy S and S II Android Smartphones across the globe, and that sales are continually moving forward.
Samsung had previously announced back in September that its Galaxy S II handset had already sold 10 million units, but with a new version of the handset recently going on sale in the United States on T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T, sales of the Gingerbread running device have soared since.
In the statement by Samsung, JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business states:
“Since its launch only five months ago, GALAXY SII has seen tremendous sales success and garnered enthusiastic reviews from consumers and mobile industry watchers across the globe. This is in addition to the continued sales momentum behind GALAXY S, which we launched at Mobile World Congress 2010 as continues to be a run-away success with consumers,”
“The phenomenal success of these smartphones once again demonstrates how the GALAXY S smartphones is setting the standard for smart mobile technology around the world.”
Now we can see why Samsung want to brag, as the Galaxy SII is one of our favourite handsets out at the moment and can definitely be seen as an alternative to the iPhone 4S. In fact, it’s probably the best Android handset available at the moment in our opinion. In the world of Android running smartphones though things are always changing fast so now we are switching our attentions to the Samsung Galaxy S III!
