It’s been an Apple iPhone kinda few days, so it’s refreshing to see some Android and Samsung-related news pop up, and today in light of Apple’s big one, Samsung has announced that it expects to to sell over 20 million units of the Galaxy Note 2.
Now that’s double what its predecessor, the original Samsung Galaxy Note, sold last year, but with Samsung being as popular as they have ever been at the moment thanks to the Samsung Galaxy S3, it is more than feasible to see the larger screen and similarly-specced Note 2 device to sell just as well.
The statement on sales was made by Samsung’s Head of Mobile, JK Shin, who thinks that the Note 2 will be a very popular device for the company.
We can see why he may think that, as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is a beast of a smartphone, but you can also regard it as a tablet/smartphone hybrid because of its 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED Display. The phone will run off the Android Jelly Bean Android 4.1 software with a 1.6GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB RAM, HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 8MP and 1.9MP cameras, NFC, a 3100mAh battery and S Pen stylus support.
Currently Samsung has not given us an exact release date for the Android Smartphone but we are expecting the Note 2 to launch in the UK around October for over £600 SIM free. Clove Technology is currently accepting pre-orders for the SIM-free versions of the device.
