Users with the Samsung Galaxy SIII Android smartphone could soon be getting a bit of Jelly Bean action, as the word on the street is that Samsung is in the final stages of releasing the latest Android 4.1 Operating System.
Samsung-specific tech site SamMobile is reporting that a ‘near perfect’ version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.1 software is nearly ready to hit devices, bringing a host of new Jelly Bean features – such as Android Beam and Google Now – in the coming weeks.
Samsung have been having issues getting the software onto handsets since the Jelly Bean OS release nearly 2 months ago but with it having released the software on its own made Samsung Nexus S ad announcing that Jelly Bean will come as the out of box OS for the new Note 2 we all expected the update will be coming soon.
SamMobile has also created a list of noticeable changes:
- Brightness issue is fixed
- Wi-Fi reception improved
- RAM optimizations
- Fast battery charging
- App Drawer much smoother
- Apps open really fast
- Very fast and smooth
When Samsung does finish the OS you can expect the full update to land on your handset over the air, or via the Samsung Kies PC software.
It was also announced today that a Titanium Grey version Samsung Galaxy S3 will be one of the first 4G running handsets in the UK as part of the EE lineup of phones that will also come with Jelly Bean pre-installed!
However, as with most updates you can also expect that network specific Jelly Bean updates (for network branded smartphones with software) will come later than the SIM free versions.
