Fans who still have the Samsung Galaxy S3 and are waiting for Samsung to release the latest Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 software that will bring the handset up to speed with its Galaxy S4 successor will have to wait a little while longer as the latest Jelly Bean OS has been delayed.
Last month news broke that Samsung would be updating their Galaxy SIII handset in the coming months with the newest software but the folks over at SamMobile have tweeted that the Android 4.2.2 update faces further delays.
The delay is once again down to Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface which is in the process of being ported from the Galaxy S4 onto the older handsets but it’s dragging its heels in the process and leaving S3 customers stuck on the Android 4.1.2 software.
However, seeing as the release was only rumoured and never confirmed by Samsung there technically is no real delay to the OS. It was thought by sources who leaked the OS that the 4.2.2 update would come in June but now that’s looking less likely, the only people being shamed are the aforementioned sources.
Hopefully though Samsung will be able to get the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS out soon though, especially with a Samsung Galaxy event coming on June 20th where the company will release a whole host of phones and juicy gadget gossip.
