Despite the ongoing legal spat between Apple and Samsung over the similarities between their Tablet PCs, UK retailers The Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy will be stocking the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Best Buy have informed us that they will be receiving a bulk stock order of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on September 11th, so those looking to pick one up should check in store and online in the week following that.
With Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse being a part of the same group, naturally we contacted Carphone Warehouse to find out when they would be getting the tablet.
Recombu reports that Carphone Warehouse are selling the tablet as of now, though a rep for the company confirmed to The Gadget Helpline that the product is not yet on their systems, though they anticipate it going on sale within the next 2-3 weeks.
Prices for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be staying at the RRP which is £399 for the 16GB version and £499 for the 32GB model, both of which will be available in the white and black colour variants.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the slimmest tablet available at just 8.6mm thick. It runs Android Honeycomb 3.1 with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface added on top for extra functionality such as the Reader Hub and Games Hub, each dedicated to specific apps and features.
Samsung recently unveiled the new Galaxy Tab 7.7 at the IFA Consumer Electronics event in Berlin, only to be forced to remove it from display at the show due to an injunction filed by none other than Apple.
We’ve had the pleasure of using the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and we must say it’s a beauty. If you’re thinking of getting one then we’d suggest to grab one soon before Apple takes legal proceedings even further!
