The new line of Samsung tablets has emerged from hiding recently, and if you weren’t confused over the latest Samsung device names already, the new Galaxy Tab S might seem confusing, as it sounds very similar to the Galaxy S smartphone.
However there is nothing to fear, the new tablet range is impressive, visually pleasing and promisingly smart, boasting not only the very first 2560 x 1600 AMOLED display on a tablet, but reportedly comes with very speedy on board components as well. The AMOLED display is a high definition organic light emitting diode display. This technology is only just emerging from the theoretical phase, with new screens based on this method being much more reliable and of higher quality than previous LCD screens.
On top of that, the Galaxy tab S is reported to include other cutting edge tech, this time in the processor and graphics output systems. An octa core processor is included, with 8 processing cores on just that one component. The octa-core Exynos 5 processor is made up of four 1.9GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores, four small cores and four larger, faster ones. The tablet also reportedly includes a hearty 3GB of RAM. These features combined will make the tab, very, very fast.
Also purported are an 8-megapixel camera, and Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. Design rumors state that The Galaxy Tab S range is said to resemble the Galaxy Tab 4 line in design and will come in either WiFi and 4G-ready models.
Combining the whole lot, camera, screen, processors and RAM will equal a quite expensive tablet that will be definitely worth the money for processing speed enthusiasts. I wouldn’t recommend it for seldom use, the kind of speed included is more suited to daily, continuous usage with multiple applications open at once.
